与Windows XP相比，Windows Vista消耗电池很快，一些用户怀疑是不是那些花俏的视觉效果所致。不管怎样，它的确消耗电池太快。
Vista Battery Saver是一个适用于Windows Vista的软件，它用来解决电池消耗的问题。主要功能是它提供一些选项来让用户关闭一些诸如Windows Aero效果和Windows Vista Sidebar（边栏）。
这些选项可以设定在笔记本电脑运行电池的时候才产生作用。Vista Battery Saver提供进入Vista电源计划，它可以配置界面。
如果用户不能确定Vista Battery Saver是否能够减少电池的消耗的话，可以进行下面的测试：记下没有运转Vista Battery Saver状况下的笔记本电池时间，充电后再记录运行Vista Battery Saver的电池时间，然后看看两者之间的变化。
