Windows Explorer的替代物Explorer++试图与Notepad++一样成功，它是一个非常快速的、具有不少功能的Windows浏览器。这是一个便携式和轻量级的软件，有一些新的功能和一个新的设计，与文件和文件夹之间的衔接显得更加舒适。
Explorer++使一个完全的便携式软件，你可以安装在任何位置上，它所消耗的电脑内存大概为6MB，虚拟内存为3MB。
Explorer++支持窗口浏览和快捷键。CTRL T是打开一个新的窗口条。
窗口条可以加入书签以便以后使用，这也是替代旧的Windows Explorer的功能。
它也支持过滤和分解与合并文件。目前Explorer++还处于alpha版本，作者会在将来添加更多的功能。
