Imo.im提供一个一个方法来连接不同的即时通讯服务器，可以选择无需安装软件的在线网站，或下载适合Windows系统的客户端。目前支持的即时通讯服务器有MSN、Yahoo、Google Talk、AIM和ICQ。
Imo.im新添加了两个服务：一是连接Skype。用户可以使用Skype的用户信息来登陆，并显示Skype上的联系人列表。你可以与朋友聊天甚至通话。这个功能适用于在线和客户端版本。目前唯一有所限制的是还不支持向外打电话。
第二个服务是MySypace IM。说实话如果我没有查看它的网站的话，我还不知道有MySypace IM这个东西。
它看上去如同Skype的MySpace插件。我很喜欢Skype的服务，主要原因Skype是我唯一日常使用的通讯软件。
