Adobe刚刚发布了一个新版本的Adobe Reader和Adobe Acrobat。大多数功能你我恐怕从来不使用，你想要改善CAD和Geospatial、支持Native Adobe Flash®、或PDF Portfolios？新版本比原来的版本要快一些，但与那些第三方软件相比如Foxit Reader，Sumatra，甚至Adobe Reader 9 Lite，它还是相形见绌。
Windows Vista Codec的作者开发了一个简版的Adobe Reader - Adobe Reader 9 Lite，它摆脱了大多数PDF reader中臃肿的东西，这些东西大部分用户并不使用。简版的Adobe Reader版本并不比Foxit Reader这些第三方软件快，但它使用的是官方的Adobe的核心产品。
Adobe Reader 9 Lite大概使用6MB内存和18MB硬盘空间，如果你并不使用大部分Adobe Reader功能的话我推荐使用它。但是第三方软件Foxit Reader等仍然是最快的和使用内存最少的。
