大多数即时通讯软件都提供隐藏你的真实在线状况，这样你的联系人看到的是一个虚假信息，人们使用这个功能主要是不想被人打扰。
然而有一个方法可以发现你的联系人是否真的在线或不在线。这基本上让你侦断他们是否使用了Yahoo Messenger中的隐性功能。
最简单的方法是使用一个script，如Xeeber。只要输入Yahoo的ID就可以看到结果，真的离线还是使用隐性功能而留下离线的假象。
