从理论上讲，如果能打开电脑的话电脑高手就可以从你的电脑中得到一些敏感的信息。这有多种含义如播放CD，进入没有保护的账户，或以管理员身份偷窥你的档案文件夹。他们可以搜索你的电脑硬盘，读一些文件，查看你的网络缓存，邮件信箱，甚至可以删除邮件，下载软件的历史资料。
也可以用恢复资料软件来得到一些你已经删除的文件。总之，他们可以做任何想做的事。这也提醒你应该对那些敏感资料的保护。
保护你的敏感资料不被窃盗非常重要，这不是我的狂想症，这对每个人都如此。那么如何做呢？
其实它比你想象中的要简单。我的建议是使用加密来保护数据。用代码加密数据要远远好于将他们保存在一个某个角落。
只要跟着下面的步骤就可以加密你的电脑：
下载和安装True Crypt到你的系统中，它可以用安全锁来保护硬盘和分区。我也建议使用一个扩展硬盘，它比加密硬盘要好。
你需要至少一个没有加密的分区来启动你的操作系统。
加密硬盘。我的意思是用True Crypt建立一个加密区。
现在，我们来谈重要的部分。移动所有你敏感的东西到加密区。如邮件客户端、浏览器、p2p软件、ftp软件、文档、图片、视频和其他一些你认为重要的数据。
确定你更改了那些数据的路径。如果你使用的邮件客户端在加密区但邮箱却没有更改路径还留在外面的话，这对邮件并没有什么加密。必须将他们全部移到加密区才能得到保护。
如果没有安全钥匙的话，没有人可以进入加密区。从理论上讲只有用算法或使用Brute
Force来破解密码后才能进入。如果你是用一个超过40个字母的密码的话，那么破解的密码的时间可能长达无数年。
别的一些你要注意的事项，清理缓存或使用一个软件如Eraser来删除信息。
