Youtube决定使用覆盖广告，该广告看上去大概十秒钟会显示在视频底部，它几乎是透明格式停留在视频上直到用户点击广告外部或广告带你进入广告网站。
Tubestop，一个Firefox扩展能阻止Youtube视频的autoplayback，它的扩展同时也可以阻止Youtube广告，该广告主要出现在它的主页上，而不会出现在镶嵌在别的网站上或同步连接。
Tubestop能有效地阻止Youtube广告，并可以自由下载该扩展件。
